Laws of Emotions…
My Son often gets very candid with his mom over various educational,
academic discussions. As a 4th grader, he has been introduced to Newton’s
Laws of Motion. Saturday evening, he wanted a little more understanding of how
these laws work and hence persuaded his Physics expert Mom to help him. She
used all her creative acumen to explain a 4th grader how Newton’s
Laws of Motions worked and how they govern our lives.
At the end of this nerve stressing discussion (To me, Newton’s
laws are alien terms) he asked a very wise question – Who has written “ Laws of
Emotions “….now this came a nuclear bomb to all of us, there was a roar of
laughter in my family and everyone was amused with this query. And then there
was a dead silence. Everyone was now
introspecting, why there are no laws governing emotions.
I tried to reason him that since emotions are our internal
motions and they are mostly volatile, individualistic there is no thumb rules
for them. I felt he was convinced,
however he created a void of thoughts for me to ponder on.. Laws of emotions often
rudimentary in nature could have made this world very predictable and perhaps
robotic. It is uncertainty of human minds that keeps us alive today. The motions of nature, out of the human body have a repeat value and
hence it has some thumb rules. However our own minds are uncontrolled nature
and hence the thoughts travel at rapid speed, we are yet to calculate the speed
of thoughts, unlike speed of light or sound.
Of all the emotions we experience, the most loved one is
Happiness. The Happy state of mind is a human craving, and a journey leads to
our expiry. This metaphysical element of discussion itself could lead us to
sadness. On and on all, our children often drive our minds out of our body and enforce
a new pattern of thoughts.
Our minds dwell upon the uncertain notions and quest is to
discover the uncertain. We often risk our own existence while making inroads to
new discoveries. Stephen Hawkins the
great physicist has warned the civilization against sending any signals of our
existence to the alien world as he feels we could be very little use to them. But
like Moon adventure in next 500 years it is inevitable that we will be
travelling across various time zones and tourism will take a new shape. This
will be possible because we have emotions…
As a behavioral trainer, it becomes vital for me to stay in
I am Ok-You are Ok state of mind…
